Find Your Inner Nerd Day

What is Find Your Inner Nerd Day?
Find Your Inner Nerd Day, August 23, is the perfect excuse to proudly celebrate the wonderfully weird, wildly curious, deeply enthusiastic side of yourself that lights up over your favorite things.
Whether your “nerd zone” is comic books, science facts, video games, fantasy novels, puzzles, coding, crafts, trivia, space, dinosaurs, board games, or knowing way too much about one specific movie franchise—today is your day to shine.
It’s all about embracing the hobbies, fandoms, and interests that make you excited. No pretending to be “too cool.” No hiding your collection. No apologizing for saying, “Actually, fun fact…”
Find Your Inner Nerd Day reminds us that passion is awesome. The world needs curious people, creative thinkers, problem-solvers, collectors, builders, readers, gamers, and fact-sharing champions. Basically, nerds make life more interesting.
10 Ways to Celebrate
1. Revisit your favorite fandom
Rewatch a favorite movie, reread a beloved book, replay an old video game, or dive back into the series you could talk about for hours.
2. Host a trivia night
Pick a theme—movies, science, cartoons, history, music, sports, or random facts—and challenge friends or family to a nerdy showdown.
3. Learn something totally random
Fall into a fun rabbit hole. Research space facts, ancient history, weird animals, how airplanes work, mythology, puzzles, coding, or anything that makes your brain say, “Wait, that’s cool.”
4. Do a puzzle or brain game
Try a crossword, Sudoku, escape room, jigsaw puzzle, logic game, or board game. Bonus points if you dramatically announce your genius after solving it.
5. Dress the part
Wear your favorite fandom shirt, quirky socks, glasses, themed accessories, or anything that says, “Yes, I have interests, and yes, I will tell you about them.”
6. Have a board game or video game night
Gather your people for classic board games, strategy games, card games, or multiplayer video games. Snacks are required. Trash talk is optional.
7. Try a DIY science experiment
Make slime, build a paper rocket, grow crystals, make a baking soda volcano, or try a simple kitchen science project.
8. Start a nerdy collection or organize one
Sort your books, comics, trading cards, mini figures, rocks, pins, stickers, or whatever brings you joy. Organization counts as celebration.
9. Share a fun fact
Post or text your favorite random fact of the day. Example: “Did you know octopuses have three hearts?” Instant nerd points.
10. Try something new
Learn a few words in another language, start coding, sketch a comic character, watch a documentary, build a model, or explore a hobby you’ve always been curious about.
