Father’s Day

What is Father’s Day?
Get ready for dad jokes, big hugs, and maybe a questionable grilling technique —because Father’s Day is all about celebrating the dads, stepdads, grandpas, and father figures who make life a little more fun (and a lot more supportive).
In the U.S., Father’s Day is celebrated on the third Sunday in June each year. It’s the perfect summer day to relax, hang out, and show Dad some love.
A Little History
Father’s Day didn’t just appear out of nowhere—it started with heart:
- It was inspired by a woman named Sonora Smart Dodd, who wanted to honor her father, a single dad who raised six kids
- The first celebration was held in 1910
- It became an official U.S. holiday in 1972
So yeah—this day has been making dads smile for over a century!
